First of all, I’m typing this one handed, baby on my chest and cat on my feet.
I feel hot. Little heaters, both of them.
I have discovered the following:
1. wipey warmers are a GOOD thing.
2. Huggies are great, Pampers are fine, Luvs suck.
3. 4AM is a great time to get peed on.
4. 2 changing table covers are not enough.
5. Koala care surpasses Kangaroo care.
6. Some babies are just belly sleepers.
7. Yes they really breathe like that.
8. I must learn to read his mind.
9. You never have enough baby clothes.
10. For breastfed babies, poop is also a projectile.
He’s beautiful, he’s a great baby, and I can’t wait to see where this goes.
My thoughts on the actual birth when I’m more mobile.
Mom and baby are great. More information later.

I’m exhausted. Mentally, physically, everything. Stress. I have agita.
The Simpsons Movie was great.
I took pictures last week. We went walking. It was fun.
…
Hey, wow that’s a BIG cricket or something on my cubicle wall. I wonder if it wants to be friends…
Other than the obvious suggestions (sex, walking, pedicures and foot massage), what the heck else will hurry labor along?
Other than waiting, that is. Because the OB has decided that Tuesday afternoon is drop-dead time and we’re not comfortable with that.
I’ve instructed my son to shape up his act and get the hell out of his mother’s womb NOW.
He continues to ignore me.
I find it aggravating.
Aimee finds it even more so.
Come hell or high water, this kid’s getting born by August 1st, though.
If I ever meet the person who decided that to format a thesis you had to separate the goddamned document into 16 SECTIONS over 31 pages just to get a 2″ top margin on each chapter heading and 1″ on all the other pages, I’ll throttle them.
I’ll also throttle the person who still thinks that in this day and age we NEED to have an odd-ass, annoyingly obscure 2″ top margin-style formatting and alternating page numbers with roman numerals, and then oh NO in the appendix we have to number first pages and not others, oh YES, I’ll throttle you, Mr. or Ms. Thesis Formatter. Ohhh, yes I will.
In other news, Aims finished her thesis, in case you hadn’t guessed.
If she goes for her doctorate I’m buying a copy of Nota Bene.
The baby’s furniture got here on Saturday, we’ve been nesting ever since.
Isn’t it CUTE? There’s more in the associated set on Flickr.
In other news, work is worky and I’m just trying to get through the day again.
It’s been officially announced: Auto Assault will be closing down at 12:00AM August 31, 2007.
We doff our hat to NCSoft and NetDevil for making what was surely a difficult decision to stop hemorrhaging money.
While I enjoyed Auto Assault, it is likely to be said… well… let’s put it this way:

[@Mr_Poppinfresh] I’m about to click this link
[@Mr_Poppinfresh] this cannot possibly be good news
[@Mr_Poppinfresh] yep
[@Mr_Poppinfresh] not good
[@Mr_Poppinfresh] HOW CAN YOU MAKE AN EXPLODING MAD MAX CAR GAME BORING?
IGN Vault just brought Auto Assault Vault back a few weeks ago, too. Sad to hear the game didn’t succeed. It had promise, and exploding cars and motorcycles.
Que sera sera, I suppose.
Yeah, so I took a long week to get my batteries recharged before the baby comes. Played a lot of Lord of the Rings Online. Got my Hunter almost to 21. Then I can use the keen new spear and sword dual wield combo I picked up.
This is the Rundown for June 25th, gaming style:
1. Sony declares 380 145 titles for the PS3 by March 2008. Ozy’s site’s my link for the info because he makes it pretty clear: when they said 380 titles by 3/08 it would be 33.3 titles a month not counting downloadables. Even with their revised “oh hell, we meant 145” it’s 24 titles a month until March.
2. Nintendo hot on Sony’s heels in terms of market value. This was on the Nikkei as it closed on Friday afternoon, and they had popped just above Sony before dropping just under them at the bell. More bad news for Sony, I figure. Nintendo only does video games now. Sony should be picking up a lot more from TVs and other consumer electronics.
3. The Zune is on sale at Toys R Us for $199. If you were up for it, that is. I don’t hear horrible things about it, just “it’s no iPod,” which isn’t exactly a huge knock or a ringing endorsement.
4. Lum has info on Wowhead being sold to Affinity Media, who own/don’t own/won’t own up to owning IGE. A million dollars is a million dollars, but it’s still Selling Out.
5. To close, look out for monkey balls and penis trains. They’re dangerous.
Somehow, some way, the Memorial Hall Marauders clawed, fought and bit their way through the brutal intramural employee softball season, playing two doubleheaders in 1 week and beating the heavily favored All Trades/Facilities teams 11-6.
They were undefeated, beating us pretty badly the first time. We had to plow through the Athletics Department team first at 5:45, then immediately play the championship game against All Trades, and we passed with flying colors.
